The National Research Council Canada Institute for Information Technology (NRC-IIT) will be hosting the New Brunswick Innovation Forum 2009: Your Fast Track to IT Opportunities on October 27-28, 2009 at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre, Saint John, New Brunswick.

The matchmaking event will give up to 28 New Brunswick companies, organizations, researchers, academics, and entrepreneurs the opportunity to offer their most innovative ideas and business opportunities to an international audience of motivated receptors who are there specifically looking for new market opportunities, collaboration partners, IT solutions to support their business procedures, or clients for funding (VCs, etc).
Whether you want to develop technologies, collaborate, commercialize, attract investment, or simply promote your products and services, the New Brunswick Innovation Forum 2009 is designed to be your innovation matchmaker by connecting you to the people you need to meet. And new this year, the THINK NB ICT Showcase will take place during the second day of the Forum!
What's the focus?
The New Brunswick Innovation Forum 2009 offers a venue for innovative companies, investors, scientists and researchers to find each other so that more New Brunswick and Canadian innovations can reach the marketplace. The themes for 2009 are:
- E-learning
- Simulation, Animation and Gaming
- Health ICT/Services
- Mobile Technology/Intelligent Systems
- IT Systems and Services
How does it work?
There will be two panelist sessions taking place at any one time. Each session will consist of seven panelists, each of whom will be given 10 minutes and 10 PowerPoint slides to make their presentation. The audience will consist of funding agencies, scientists and research organizations and company decision makers who will be there specifically to hear your presentation. Panelists may be looking for a wide range of opportunities including funding, collaboration and/or technology transfer.
Each series of panelist sessions will be followed by a "Meet the Panelists" networking session. As a panelist, you would be provided with a clearly marked station equipped with a laptop computer and wireless Internet connection where interested audience members can connect with you directly.
